 How to Apply Minimize

We receive applications only through ERAS/NRMP. Along with the application, we require a Personal Statement, CV, Medical School Transcript, Dean’s Letter, USMLE scores, and three letters of recommendation from individuals who are familiar with your clinical background. If the applicant is IMG, we request a copy of the ECFMG certificate. Members of the Resident Selection Committee review all applications and decide who is selected to interview.

Selection Process

Candidates are reviewed taking into consideration: academic records (dean's letter, medical school transcript, USMLE scores); research experience (CV); written communication skills and motivation (personal statement); personal qualities such as ability to work with others, integrity, work habits, sensitivity toward patients, eagerness to learn, etc. (letters of recommendation).

Applicants selected for interview are invited to attend Morning Report, followed by a hospital tour, Neurology Grand Rounds and lunch with residents. Then, applicants are interviewed by at least three faculty members. Each interviewer completes a form evaluating the candidate from (0) Poor to (10) Excellent with regard to academic orientation, interpersonal skills, verbal communication, willingness to work, fund of knowledge and general impression. The Resident Selection Committee reviews all files, ranks residents and submits the selection according to the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) guidelines.
