Academic Program

The program has strong emphasis on clinical nuclear medicine and research. All aspects of diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine, PET imaging and Radio Immuno Therapy are covered.

Occasionally, the residents may come for fellowship upon completion of radiology and/or internal medicine residency. 

Rotations

Year 1
1) Clinical rotation (general nuclear medicine), 7 months
2) Laboratory rotation, 1 month
3) Pediatric nuclear medicine, 1 month
4) Nuclear cardiology, 2 months
5) Elective, 1 month

Year 2
1) Clinical rotation, 7 months
2) Pediatric nuclear medicine, 1 month
3) Nuclear cardiology, 2 months
4) Elective, 1 month
5) Research, 1 month  

Conferences
Weekly:
1) didactic
2) journal club
3) nuclear medicine conference
4) pulmonary conference
5) tumor board
6) neurology grand rounds

Monthly:
1) physics (1 week)
2) medical grand rounds

Bi-monthly: nuclear cardiology lectures

Every four months: radiation biology/radiopharmacy 

Research

Research is mandatory in the second year of residency, but also encouraged during the first year. The applicants are required to write abstracts and manuscripts and present them at the national meetings.

Evaluations

Each resident is evaluated on general nuclear medicine rotation (semi-annually) and on pediatric, cardiac, elective and research monthly upon completion of the rotation.
