Selection Process

The Drexel University College of Medicine OBGYN Residency Program participates in the ERAS application process. Resident applicants make application to our program through ERAS. Applications are reviewed by our Program Director and presented to the Department Education Committee. Applicants are notified of their status regarding invitation for interview. Applicants offered to interview select one of our 7 dates for interviews. Interview dates for this year include:

  • Friday, November 17, 2006
  • Saturday, November 18, 2006
  • Friday, December 1, 2006
  • Saturday, December 2, 2006
  • Friday, December 8, 2006
  • Friday, December 15, 2006
  • Friday, January 5, 2007

The program interviews 10-20 applicants per day. The interview day starts with a brief introduction by the Program Director. Each applicant has the opportunity to talk with residents from each level of training and has 3-4 personal interviews with members of the department. Applicants are evaluated on their application, their interviews, and their interactions. Applicants are evaluated and placed in preliminary rank order after each interview day and a final rank list is created by the department after all applicants have been interviewed. The program participates in the National Residency Match Program (NRMP) and submits its final rank list to the NRMP.
