From the Chair

The Department of Ophthalmology at Drexel University College of Medicine initiated its current residency program in 1988. The goal of the program is to create superb clinicians who can proceed from the training provided here to further clinical subspecialty training, research training or community practice as comprehensive ophthalmologists. Many of our graduates participate in academic medical settings as clinician-educators. The philosophy of our program respects the academic model and encourages clinical research during the course of the resident's experience. We offer the resources of a dynamic, diverse hospital system which provides excellent care to members of many communities under the supervision of an experienced and dedicated faculty.

We welcome applications from prospective residents with diverse backgrounds and career interests who share our goal of providing the best possible care to each patient while contributing to the progress of knowledge in this exciting and rapidly expanding field.

Sincerely,

Myron Yanoff, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Chair, Department of Ophthalmology
Program Director
