The current Drexel University College of Medicine Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program is a merger of Hahnemann University and Medical College of Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Residency Programs which occurred in November 1994. Norman A. Johanson, M.D. is the Program Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at DUCOM. Stephen J. Bosacco, M.D. is the Residency Program Director.
Our orthopaedic service and residency program has remained competitive meeting the needs of our patients and educational requirements. DUCOM residents currently rotate primarily at Hahnemann University Hospital and at several other outstanding sites including Warminster Hospital/Holy Redeemer Hospital, St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, Shriners Hospitals for Children and Pennsylvania Hospital. Our program has experience in all clinical areas of Orthopaedic Surgery, basic science, and clinical or laboratory research.
Through a partnership with Drexel University, who has become our resourceful management and research partner, we are working together in a highly effective fashion to achieve our goals of high quality patient care and resident education.
This program is an accredited five year program by the ACGME Residency Review Committee for Orthopaedic Surgery for twenty residents, four per year. |
