The Hahnemann University Hospital/Drexel University College of Medicine Podiatric Surgical Program was established on July 1, 2004. The program consists of nine residency positions, i.e., three residents in each of three years. The director of the program is Steven F. Boc, DPM.
The program has strong administrative and educational support from the Hahnemann University Hospital, Drexel University College of Medicine and the office of Graduate Medical Education. The academic program is well structured and the rules of governance are in order and well defined. The hospital has provided a full scope of podiatric medical and surgical care for the foot and ankle.
The residency program also receives clinical training in the offices of the Foot and Ankle Center of Philadelphia, the private office of Dr. Steven Boc and Dr. Ramon Lopez. In addition, the residents will also take part of the Wound Care Center at Hahnemann University Hospital and also part of the Foot and Ankle Center located at Hahnemann University Hospital.
Furthermore the program has affiliation agreements with two Surgical Centers: Wills Surgical Center and Abington Surgical Center, which provide additional faculty diversification to the program. |
