Welcome to the Discovery Day 2008 website!

Discovery Day is Drexel University College of Medicine's annual Research Day. The event is a longstanding tradition of the College of Medicine showcasing the research efforts of our students, summer interns, technicians, postdoctoral fellows and residents.

This year's event will took place on October 15, 2008 at the Queen Lane Campus.

More than 315 posters were presented on topics as diverse as malaria, HIV/AIDS, infectious diseases, cancer, cardiology, spinal cord injury and repair, behavioral neurobiology, and many more.

The featured speaker was Bruce McEwen, Ph.D., Alfred E. Mirsky Professor, Rockefeller University, New York, who gave the L.M. "Bill" Stephenson Lecture on "Sex, Stress and the Brain: From Serendipity to Clinical Relevance."

Congratulations to the winners and all who participated in the day’s events. A special thank you to the Discovery committee and everyone else who helped make this event such a spectacular day.
