Queen Lane renovations nearing completion (8-16-04)

Renovations at the Queen Lane campus are almost completed. The most of the administrative offices, including the Chair's office, have been relocated across the hall to G44, where a new reception area awaits visitors to the Department. Faculty members have also moved into new offices throughout the department. Construction efforts are now being focused on laboratory space to support studies conducted by Dr. Richard Rest.

Renovations at the New College Building are moving forward (8-16-04)

Renovations on the 18th floor of the New College Building are proceding. A new lab on the north side of the building is now the new home of Dr. Fred Krebs and his research group. Adjacent to his lab is a newly constructed biosafety level 3 (BSL-3) facility, where research can be conducted on HIV-1 and other viral pathogens. Phase II of the project, which will involve the construction and renovation of lab and office space across the remainder of the floor, is scheduled to be completed by sometime next year. Once the final renovations have been completed, the 18th floor will become an extension of the Department and home of the Drexel University Institute for Molecular Medicine and Infectious Disease (IMMID).
