I was raised in Maryland and obtained my BS degree at James Madison University with a concentration in microbiology. My undergraduate research project focused on the longevity of human pathogens recovered from poultry litter. For two years after graduation, I was employed as a microbiologist for a pharmaceutical firm in Baltimore, Maryland before I set out to live in Boulder, Colorado. For the past four years, I've worked at the University of Colorado as both a lab manager and outreach instructor for an organization called Biological Sciences Initiative which focuses on developing hands-on, inquiry-based, science learning for the K-12 community.
My hobbies include snowboarding, hiking, camping, and seeing any live music performance. I also have a passion for international travel that has taken me backpacking across six continents. After graduating from Drexel, I hope to return to the pharmaceutical industry and combine my scientific training with my insatiable need to travel.
